CIRCULAR UNVEILS ITS SMART RING DESIGNED TO IMPROVE USERS’ HEALTH AND WELLNESS

January 4, 2022 by

A smart ring for better health and wellness. CES Unveiled event series brings together key players in the technology industry, including innovative technology companies of all sizes, influential media, senior-level executives, and prominent tech industry influencers.

THE ONLY FRENCH START-UP IN THE SECTOR OF HEALTH SMART RING Circular team came up with the idea of a health smart ring in 2016. Thanks to the expertise of the team gathering hardware and industrialization experts, algorithmic engineers, and experienced data scientists, the initial concept evolved into an easy-to-use and efficient

solution.

“A lot of wearables are not suitable to users’ real needs, not to mention the lack of

personalization. Also, the users are provided with raw data without knowing how to use it.

As users ourselves, we aimed to design a personal and easy-to-use product capable of

making smart recommendations for a healthier daily life“, said Amaury Kosman, CEO of

Circular.

Very few innovative companies are positioned in the smart health ring market, mainly for technical and production complexity reasons.

HOW DOES IT WORKS?

Circular’s Smart Ring is a wellness wearable that tracks many of your vital metrics, day and

night. The ring focuses on how the user responds to their activities, daily choices, and

rhythms and provides personalized recommendations based on the data it gathers rather

than just providing metrics and raw data graphs.

Weighing just 4 grams, the ring sits on your finger, with a form factor that makes it look

more like a fashionable ring rather than a clunky wearable. lt is comfortable and fashionable

enough for 24/7.

now-available-everywhere,-the-lili-lamp-helps-dyslexic-people-to-read-more-easily!

Now available everywhere, the Lili lamp helps dyslexic people to read more easily!

January 4, 2022 by

Customizable, connected and portable, the Lili lamp helps people with dyslexia to read thanks to a patented technology awarded by the French National Academy of Medicine.

Designed for everyday use, the Lili lamp helps dyslexic people of all ages to get access to more fluent and enjoyable reading. Thanks to its patented technology, the Lili lamp allows an immediate and easier decryption of words, while reducing the tiredness experienced during a prolonged reading session. Portable and customizable via a dedicated app, the Lili lamp enables dyslexic people to express their full potential.

Making the lives of people with dyslexia happier is Lili’s ambition!

Lili for Life’s mission is to help people with dyslexia, as its slogan underlines: « With Lili, I read and live again ». With this patented technology, Lili for Life reinforces its ambition to offer a tool that makes reading easier for dyslexic people. According to World Health Organization, 8 to 10% of the world population has dyslexic disorders. Complementary to speech therapy sessions, this tool allows people with dyslexic disorders to progress in both reading and spelling.

How does it work?

Lili for Life has developed a technological device that produces almost imperceptible lights flashes, which correct the “mirror effect”. This innovative patented technology is based on the scientific discovery of two French physicists, Albert Le Floch and Guy Ropars.

Rewarded in 2020 by the French National Academy of Medicine, they discovered that, unlike normal readers, people with dyslexic disorders have two dominant eyes. Therefore, while reading, they see mirror images, which causes an image overlay in their brain and makes reading difficult.

The flashes produced by the Lili lamp create a time lag in the processing of the visual perception of the letters, which removes these image overlays. Therefore, reading becomes more fluent, faster, less tiring, thus allowing a better understanding of the meaning of the text read.

Efficient for nearly 80 % of the Lili lamp users

Between May and September 2021, Lili for Life conducted a beta test on the effectiveness of its Lili lamp on thirty dyslexic people. At the end of the 4-month study, significant improvements in reading and understanding the text were noted for nearly 80% of the users.

The Lili lamp, the ideal tool for all dyslexic people

The Lili lamp has been designed to be as ergonomic as possible. The Lili for Life R&D team has worked on its shape, weight, autonomy, discretion and resistance. Designed to be easily transportable, it has an autonomy of 6 hours.

Foldable, light and supplied with its case, it can be stored easily in a school bag or a handbag to follow its user everywhere.

In order to allow each user to obtain optimized reading comfort, a personalized setting must be made from a smartphone after downloading the Liliforlife application from the Play Store or the App Store. Lili for Life offers its customers free support in this process.

Once set in a personalized way and switched on, no further manipulation is necessary for daily use. Discreet and without visual distractors, the Lili lamp is perfectly suited to school and professional environments.

NOWATCH is launching at wearable at CES 2022

January 4, 2022 by

The world’s first ‘Awareable’, NOWATCH is designed as a screenless wearable for the wrist and helps predict stress by following cortisol levels and in so doing can predict a user’s cognitive zone one hour in advance. In addition, it helps you to improve sleep, and restore balance. The prediction gives the user time

to change their behavior and reduce stress.

NOWATCH senses stress levels in real time using EDA also known as skin conductance, with algorithms developed by Philips, which is superior to the heart rate measures used by other well-known wearables. The NOWATCH connects with an intuitive app developed by the company and is available for iOS and Android.

NOWATCH will attend CES January 5-8th as one of 70 companies chosen in an initiative by the Dutch government to support innovation of startups and scale-ups. At CES, they are located in the Netherlands Tech Square (61928 Sands Eureka Park) and are part of the Netherlands’ exhibit of “Tech Solutions for a Responsible Future.”

“Because of the COVID surge we have been concerned about going to a large convention like CES, but now, more than ever, is the time to introduce our product to the world. Our goal is simple: to give people the time to act before stress becomes too crippling to handle, especially in this time of heightened anxiety,” said CEO Hylke Muntinga.

NOWATCH resets your relationship with technology so that it works for you subtly, securely and with complete privacy. The wearable is designed with interchangeable disks (labradorite, amethyst, white agate, lapis lazuli, tiger’s eye, malachite and falcon’s eye), which have been ethically sourced in India.

NOWATCH supports its stone crafts team with best practices and optimum working conditions. “In November 2021 we had a successful product EXPO at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, CA. We are excited about introducing the NOWATCH Living Lab, our research and development program that seeks to understand flow states, focus, awareness and the influence of stress, sleep and balance for elite musicians, athletes and other performers. Researching our new technology and elevating the human experience is central to our mission,” said Tim Manschot, President of NOWATCH.

NOWATCH pre-sales open on the 1st of February starting at $599 or at $299 with a monthly membership.

Shipping starts in the Spring of 2022.

connected-living-announces-partnership-with-temi,-a-companion-device-and-telehealth-delivery-robot

Connected Living Announces Partnership With Temi, A Companion Device And Telehealth Delivery Robot

January 3, 2022 by

Connected Living and Temi announce a global partnership in response to the COVID-19 new world, in which the most at-risk population – our seniors – need enhanced ways to interact with family, community, and medical professionals all from a distance. Connected Living is now the U.S. partner and distributor of Temi powered by Connected Living, an interactive robot that’s been introduced to senior living and healthcare facilities.

The partnership with Temi is the latest addition to Connected Living’s comprehensive COVID-19 emergency toolkit, which enables senior living communities to manage outreach across all of its constituents, including those who work and live inside and outside the property. The suite of technology services geared at creating connected communities for seniors, includes a roster of pre-configured iPads, tablets, Alexa-enabled skills, a unique TV channel with programming designed for seniors, and a unique smartphone app that helps them stay more connected with their families and one another.

“We want to protect and connect our senior population, their caregivers, staff and families. Temi allows us to safely check temperatures at the door, set up family and doctor social or health visits, and interact with unlimited engagement content,” said Sarah Hoit, CEO and Co-Founder of Connected Living, which serves hundreds of senior living communities nationwide. “We need to do everything we can to bring health and wellbeing to our clients and to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in senior communities, while creating significant opportunity for socialization and healthcare visits.”

As the need to connect and protect our seniors is heightened during this COVID-19 global crisis, Temi can be used, in conjunction with Connected Living’s full suite of technology, to schedule both family visits and telehealth calls for anyone in the building and record the temperature of people entering the building or of current residents. This reasonably-priced robot, now being offered by Connected Living as the official U.S. distributor to the senior and healthcare market, can also be used as a “companion device” in the room to connect anytime with family, see interactive videos and content and help senior living community managers with “temperature capture.” Temi can also be used to ask for the foodservice menu or as a communication device to share safe, social distancing activities that might be occurring in the building.

One of the most innovative senior living communities in the country, and client of Connected Living, is Connecticut-based, Maplewood Senior Living, who introduced Temi to the marketplace by purchasing 30 robots for their new high-end Inspīr Modern Living community center in Manhattan, along with one additional Temi for use in all their other properties, allowing for immediate interaction with anyone a resident wants to connect with virtually. Temi has been lifting spirits and connecting residents with family members and doctors. “We are committed to continuously innovating the way we do things, and bringing the best of what the market has to offer to our residents,” says Eleonora Tornatore-Mikesh, Chief Experience & Memory Care Officer of Maplewood Senior Living. “While this has always been our commitment, being able to deliver social and emotional visits with family, and/or connect with a doctor in the resident’s room is critical at this time.”

Through vibrant digital screen “faces,” Temi interacts with humans via autonomous navigation, dynamic video, enhanced audio, and advanced artificial intelligence. Within senior living communities, the gender-neutral Temis function as companion devices with virtually endless possibilities for education, healthcare, and entertainment through a proprietary Connected Living Alexa skill.

“The entire concept for Temi came from a visit to my grandmother, when I realized she was struggling to handle her smartphone,” said Yossi Wolf, Temi Co-Founder and Chairman. “Partnering with Connected Living to bring the convenience of personal robots to thousands of other elders is truly the fulfillment of a dream, and knowing that we’re easing the burden on this population is incredibly rewarding. Connected Living is a big part of making this dream come true.”

That comfort level is essential because Temis are playing a vital role in delivering healthcare to seniors on lockdown. The robots have proven useful in connecting residents with family, but also with doctors for remote consultations on non- emergent care.

“Our mission is to do the most work where we can do the most good, so harnessing technology to connect and protect the people we love is our focus.”

Sarah Hoit, CEO & Co-Founder of Connected Living

Connected Living was recently featured in a case study by LeadingAge called, “Improving System-Wide Communication with Connected Living Enterprise Platform During the COVID-19 Crisis.” To request a copy of this case study or if you have a community in need of assistance to learn more about Connected Living and Temi, please email [email protected]

leomo-brings-wearable-motion-analysis-technology-into-performance-running

LEOMO Brings Wearable Motion Analysis Technology into Performance Running

January 1, 2022 by

With the release of its five new running-specific Motion Performance Indicators (MPIs), LEOMO Inc. has created a new digital paradigm to allow runners and triathletes to precisely understand the complexity of their entire gait cycle and make appropriate changes in real-time for optimal efficiency and performance while training and racing.

LEOMO’s Running MPIs track specific aspects of a runner’s gait cycle through five proprietary motion sensors and convert that data into coachable metrics via the new TYPE-S sports computer. Runners and triathletes can utilize LEOMO’s wearable motion analysis technology to make minor adjustments to their form during a run to improve speed and efficiency and can use those digital insights to develop the necessary strength, greater mobility and better postural control for long-term development.

LEOMO will explain the new Running MPIs via a free live webinar at 11 a.m. MDT on Thursday, May 7. To promote the launch, LEOMO is giving away three TYPE-S Sensor Kit Pro device packages to performance-oriented runners.

“We believe all runners and triathletes can achieve a greater level of efficiency with our technology and be able to run better, faster and healthier,” said Kunihiko Kaji, CEO and co-founder of LEOMO. “For the first time, runners can understand precisely how their body moves and provide cues on how to improve their form. Those changes can lead to big gains in running performance.”

Each of the LEOMO Running MPIs measures specific aspects of a runner’s movement patterns and can help runners identify any weaknesses, imbalances and inefficient movements which may be adversely affecting their form. With specific insights gained from the MPIs — Strike Angular Range, Thigh Swing Speed, Recoil Angular Range, Heel Pitch and Smoothness — runners can develop more efficient habitual movement patterns by executing conscientious technique changes, appropriate form drills and strength exercises.

Strike Angular Range (Strike AR) is the measurement of the angular range of the foot as it swings back towards you before striking the ground. By improving symmetry and increasing angular range, a runner can increase the amount of propulsive force that goes into the next stride.

Thigh Swing Speed is the measurement of the maximum velocity of the thigh as it swings forward on each stride. High swing velocity is a key to fast running, and a reduction is often indicative of changes in form, timing, and fatigue.

Heel Pitch is the percentage of the stride that a runner is on ground generating propulsive force, and serves as a way to quantify the storing and releasing of forward energy of a runner’s stride.

Recoil Angular Range (Recoil AR) measures the range of how high your foot rises after leaving the ground on each stride. The higher the recoil range, the easier it will be to swing the leg during the subsequent swing phase.

Smoothness reflects the lateral smoothness of the pelvis during each stride and a runner’s dynamic control during the gait cycle. Greater smoothness indicates a higher level of coordination, stability and synchronization in a runner’s stride.

“Understanding how a runner moves with digital analytics is the key to short-term improvement, long-term development and reaching new levels of performance,” says LEOMO sports analyst, Joseph Cavarretta. “Once you understand the specific movement patterns that make up your running gait, you can begin to train your form and build strength to achieve greater uniformity, improved efficiency, and increased speed.”

The TYPE-S device provides runners with a tool to quantify athletic form, function, and performance via five IMU sensors, LEOMO’s proprietary motion tracking technology, and the LEOMO app interface. The TYPE-S also has access to the Google Play store, making it possible for athletes to use all of their favorite third-party apps to further enhance their training and racing experiences, and can automatically sync training and racing data to Strava and TrainingPeaks.

TYPE-S runs on the Android operating system which allows it to combine the functionality of a sports computer with the convenience of a phone. Wi-Fi connectivity and integration of a Nano SIM card allow a user to stay connected via 2G/3G/LTE connectivity. An athlete can use TYPE-S to email a coach, text training partners, call family members, and browse the internet before, during, and after a run from their TYPE-S device. Since its inception in 2012, LEOMO has developed new technological innovations in the endurance sports industry. LEOMO plans to continue developing new, groundbreaking solutions for high-performance athletes, coaches, fitters, and researchers. The goal is to create high-quality products that focus on the data necessary to optimize an athlete’s performance.

LEOMO launched the TYPE-S in January 2020 in two performance packages. The TYPE-S Sensor Kit Pro ($799) comes with five proprietary IMU sensors, sensor adhesives for attachment to the body, two sensor clips for attachment to running shoes, while the TYPE-S Sensor Kit ($449) includes two IMU sensors, sensor adhesives, and two sensor clips. You can view your running and motion data in real-time on the LEOMO app on the TYPE-S device or analyze and compare it from the online dashboard of the LEOMO Web Application. LEOMO’s running MPIs are also available on LEOMO’s TYPE-R device.

haste arcade’s instant leaderboard payout system-uses-blockchain-technology-to-reward-players

Haste Arcade’s Instant Leaderboard Payout system uses blockchain technology to reward players

December 31, 2021 by

Blockchain and gaming start-up Haste has announced that it will be exhibiting the Haste Arcade at CES 2022. The recently funded startup will be part of the Bitcoin SV booth at the world’s leading technology conference and will be displaying its revolutionary Instant Leaderboard Payout (ILP) technology.

Says co-founder Keith LaForce, “We were extremely excited when the Bitcoin Association invited us to be a part of the BSV booth. CES is the best tech conference in the world and we can’t wait to introduce our platforms to the mainstream.”

Haste uses blockchain technology to give gamers the ability to earn micropayments by placing on leaderboards for games within the Haste Arcade, the company’s first product. For example, a gamer can spend $0.01 in Bitcoin SV (BSV) to play a game, and if they make the game’s leaderboard, the gamer then earns a percentage of every subsequent gameplay until they are no longer on the leaderboard. Gamers can choose game levels that range from a fraction of a cent to hundreds of dollars per play depending on their spending appetite.

The Haste Arcade’s ILPs offer a new form of “Play to Earn”, in the sense that all games within the arcade are skill-based and allow gamers to get better with practice. The arcade also includes a Software Developer Kit (SDK) that allows third-party game developers to implement ILPs into their games. The benefit for the developers is that they get an output from each gameplay, thus introducing a new revenue stream. Add LaForce, “Our team has built several of the games in the arcade, but our long-term goal is to have experienced game developers and studios using our SDK within their games. From what we’ve seen so far, ILPs are an incredible engagement tool and they generate a lot of extra revenue for the game devs.”

Along with the Haste Arcade, Haste has also released an alpha NFT auction platform Take It, which adds a fun and engaging element to traditional NFT auctions.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Artist lists a collection of NFTs and sets the floor price
  2. A bidder “takes it” and pays the floor price to hold the NFT
  3. Once the NFT has been taken, the price automatically increases by 30%
  4. If another bidder takes the NFT from the current holder, the current holder gets what they paid back, plus an additional amount from the 30% price increase
  5. Once a bidder holds onto the NFT for an allotted amount of time, without any new takers, the NFT is sent to their wallet and can no longer be taken by other bidders

The beauty of Take It is that a bidder either earns more than they spent to take the NFT, or wins the NFT, which creates an additional incentive to bid on items. The original artist earns a percentage of every bid, thus increasing the amount of potential revenue their NFT generates them.

Haste launched the Haste Arcade in October and Take It in November. The company is backed by gaming industry experts Thomas Vu, the co-head of franchise development at Riot Games, as well as Anthony Borquez, a director of the clinical entrepreneurship program at USC as well as the founder of several gaming companies. Other prominent investors include San Diego-based startup accelerator LogicBoost Labs, and blockchain experts Jack Liu and Unbounded Capital. The company will be part of the Bitcoin SV booth and will be exhibiting alongside renowned esports organization Built By Gamers.

Haste is the parent company of the Haste Arcade and Take It, two platforms that utilize blockchain technology to enable people to earn from activities they are already doing. The company is focused on developing additional blockchain-related products with a key focus on utility as opposed to speculative trading.

EZVIZ unveils the C8PF Dual-Lens Pan & Tilt Wi-Fi Camera

December 31, 2021 by

Following on the success of the previous C8 camera range, EZVIZ, a global innovator in home intelligence, is pleased today to introduce its C8PF 360° pan-tilt-zoom camera.  Winner of the Good Design Award 2020, the C8PF features advanced dual-lens technologies to fulfil an unprecedented 8× mixed zoom for full home protection and provides a picture-in-picture video display mode of both wide and close-up views. It has a compact and modern design which avoids overcomplicating the camera functions making it easy to use for the average homeowner. The launch of the C8PF aims to make commercial-grade security affordable, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone.  The C8PF pan-tilt-zoom camera is available for $169.99 from Amazon.

The C8PF is the world’s very first smart home camera that offers 8× mixed zoom, delivering impressive, non-blurry zoomed in images for extended vision. The integration of a 12mm telephoto lens with a 2.8 mm wide-angle lens means users can take advantage of this advanced feature by using the EZVIZ App to zoom in and out smoothly, thus keeping an eye on what’s important without compromising on image quality or clarity. It also features four infrared lights for great night vision up to 30 meters (98 feet), meaning image quality is not compromised whatever the light conditions.

EZVIZ designed the C8PF to provide useful picture-in-picture display, in both live viewing and video playback modes. The camera captures a large picture on a small window display and allows 4×-zoom to render close-up shots on a full screen without blurring the image. Users can tap to zoom in on

areas of interest, so as not to miss detail on far-away objects.

Thanks to EZVIZ’s advanced Al technologies, the C8PF reduces false or irrelevant alarms by distinguishing human shapes from pets or objects and the device has the ability to customize detection sensitivity and time schedules to further filter out unwanted alerts. The C8PF comes with a built-in microphone and a speaker, allowing effortless communication to hear and talk to family, welcome visitors, or turn away uninvited guests by simply using a smartphone.

The C8PF excels in both flexibility and durability. Unlike many bullet cameras on the market with fixed viewing, the pan & tilt design delivers a 360-degree panoramic field-of-view to avoid blind spots, ensuring no suspicious activity is missed. All through easy click-and-drag app controls. The C8PF is fully weatherproof for long-standing performance even in stormy and wet conditions. The camera also has one of the largest on-camera storage capacities in the home security market, up to an impressive 512 GB, thanks to the built-in SD card slot [SD card not included]

Homeowners can enjoy secure local video storage at all times and can record and save all treasured memories on the SD card but with EZVIZ’s CloudPlay service subscription, an additional layer of protection can be added for increased peace of mind. No need to be concerned about security breaches either, as data security and privacy make up the cornerstones of every EZVIZ design. Data transmission between the C8PF and the EZVIZ Cloud is encrypted from end to end and only the key supplied with the camera can decrypt the data.

EZVIZ is the only smart home brand to offer a full range of outdoor pan & tilt cameras with the majority of competitors still offering the traditional bullet cameras. With the launch of the C8PF pan-tilt-zoom camera it further extends its product portfolio and continues EZVIZ’s commitment to offering consumers fast-paced, innovative products but at an affordable price. EZVIZ’s continues on its mission to offer ‘advanced technology accessible to everyone.’
